She started a PR agency with 18 months of experience. Six months in, she left her marriage too.
Lynda Williams spent 15 years in corporate luxury hospitality, working her way up to head of marketing and PR. Then she left to start her own PR agency in Singapore, with 18 months of hands-on PR experience to her name.
Six months into her first year in business, she also left her marriage.
She made it work anyway.
For the next decade Lynda built her agency into a known name across the Asian market, representing Michelin-starred restaurants, conservation brands in Africa, and high-end wellness companies, traveling the world on safaris and superyachts along the way.
Then burnout set in. A sale of the business fell through just before COVID. And in the stillness of the pandemic, she started asking harder questions about what she actually wanted.
The answer was coaching. She wound down the agency, moved back to the UK after nearly 20 years as an expat, and built a coaching practice from the ground up, this time with purpose at the center. Today she helps single female entrepreneurs and high achievers attract healthy relationships, starting with the relationship they have with themselves.
In this episode of Her Big Leap, Sarah and Lynda get into all of it. How to start a business in a field you’re still learning. Why resilience gets built before you need it. The connection between self-worth and both business pricing and dating. And the Ikigai framework Lynda uses with clients who don’t yet know what they want to build.
ABOUT LYNDA WILLIAMS
Lynda Williams has made not one but two career leaps, and she’ll be the first to tell you the difference between jumping without a plan and jumping with one. She began her career in PR for a global hotel company before building an award-winning PR agency across Singapore and Hong Kong for 14 years. That first leap, she’ll admit, was made without a real long-term plan. The second, leaving Asia, returning to the UK, and completely reinventing her career, was made with one. Today Lynda is a keynote speaker, relationship and dating coach, host of the podcast PS I Love Me, and founder of the Evolved Woman Program.
